THE INNER GAME

In order to win in reality you must first be able to win in your mind. At Goodridge Strength and Conditioning, we teach you how to manifest exceptional performance by creating an environment for growth and acceleration. Within every human being, there are two selves, the conscious ego mind, and the human being itself. The outer game and the inner game. The inner game consists in the mind. It embodies all the potential we are born with and our natural ability to learn and grow. Evidence points that our best performances happens when the conscious ego mind is silent and when the subconscious human mind is allowed to do what it knows naturally.

Generally we find ourselves trying too hard, interfering with our own natural learning abilities. Most don't realize, but internal dialogue, overthinking, and over-coaching interferes with the discovery of ones own potential. What’s the most common piece of advice you’re likely to receive for getting better at something? Try harder. Work harder. Put more effort in. Pay more attention to what you’re doing. Do more. Yet what do we experience when we are performing at our best? The exact opposite. Everything becomes effortless. Act without thinking and don't give yourself time to think. Stop judging actions as good or bad and observe them as they are, "in the zone."

Judgment results in tightness and tightness interferes with the fluidity required for accurate and quick movement. They key is to stop attaching judgments to performance, whether positive or negative. Use the power of your mind to take your performance to the next level. The best way to engage our subconscious natural learning abilities is through visualization. When we have the right image in mind, we move toward it naturally. We must see what is, not what we think it should be. Our athletes and clients have seen such great success because of our world class demonstration. We show you exactly how to do the movement unlocking your true potential. Through realization and visualization we use the inner game to perform at our highest level.
